Here at 3 Porch Farm, we have been part of the small specialty flower farmer movement to help preserve, restore, and revive these heirloom mum varieties and bring them back to flower growers and home gardeners! We have spent over 12 years selecting the varieties that are the most productive, have long strong stems, make beautiful focal and accent flowers, last over 2 weeks in the vase, and are all around ideal as cut flowers. Because of our farm’s location in Georgia, we have specifically focused on heat tolerant heirloom mum varieties that grow well in the South, as well as in cooler and dryer climates across the nation.
Aesthetically, we love heirloom mums for the beauty, vibrant color, and interesting texture they provide in late autumn – just as other plants are going to sleep. They are incredibly diverse, producing daisy-like, pom pom, anemone style, irregular incurve, and spider style blooms. Some of their unique blooms remind us of paintbrushes and fireworks! Their colors range from gorgeous autumn oranges, golds, and deep reds, to more vibrant pinks, purples, and even chartreuse green! They give color and depth to the fall garden and are fantastic as cut flowers for seasonal and holiday arrangements.

We propagate our tried and tested favorite varieties here at 3 Porch Farm and ship rooted heirloom mum plants to flower growers and gardeners across the United States (with the exception of CA, HI, and AK) each spring! We have done the starting work for you, and these small plants arrive ready to put in pots, water, and plant when conditions are right in your growing region. During our ready-to-ship season, we are now also able to ship unrooted mum cuttings to California for experienced growers to root themselves.
