Happy Friday!
Thank you all so much for your support through this incredibly busy spring season. We spread so many flowers and baby plants across this pretty country, and it always feels so good to know that we get to be a conduit for other people’s love and good will. Your best sentiments of condolences, congratulations, gratitude, and romance are made tangible by sending the flowers we have the good fortune of growing every day. Your plans, hopes, and dreams for a small part of your gardens and farms are made tangible in part by the tubers and cuttings we nurture throughout the year.
In a world where animosity and fear are so prevalent, we feel incredibly fortunate to be a small link in the chain of beauty and goodwill. We put all of ourselves into trying to grow flowers and plants of the highest quality in order to do justice to all of your good intentions, and we sincerely thank you for providing us with that opportunity.

Planting dahlias for beautiful flowers to send to you this fall!
We learn more every year and I imagine we’ll continue to do so as long as we run this farm. Layers upon layers upon layers of details to absorb, and there is always more to uncover. It is invigorating, enticing, and humbling to know that you’ll never know all there is to know in your field. There's no chance of ever being bored. Every day is different. Constant evolution. Constantly learning to ride the waves of as they come crashing by.
This season’s waves are gently petering out, and we are washing up on shore. Exhausted from all the paddling, ready for some shade, an umbrella, a nap, and perhaps a cold beverage.
Things are winding down and wrapping up.
There is a little lavender coming in a few weeks, but aside from that, we are done with flowers until the dahlias come in this August.

We’ve got 2 more weeks of shipping baby mum plants,
so place your orders now! We always get requests after the season is
over, but when it's over it's over, so don’t miss your window! We’ll
also be announcing a mum giveaway in a couple days, so keep your eyes
peeled for that.

Team lunch break!

And team after lunch stretches!
We had a great team this year and are saying farewell to some of our crew for the slower summer. Some will return in the fall and some might join us again for next spring, but we sure are grateful to always find such lovely people to share our days with. Thank you Grace, Jenna, Karmen, Naomi, and Kaperli! And a hearty thank you to our managers Rachel, Kali, and Sarah and to our field crew Naw, Marry, and Eh Plaw. You’ve all impacted people's lives more than you know, and we truly appreciate your help in executing our vision of creating a small slice of positivity in this world!

Dahlia planting and and flame weeding in this amazing cooler weather!
Mandy, me, and the Karen ladies have been working in the dahlia fields lately…taking advantage of the cooler wet weather to prep beds and plant dahlias. It is hard to describe how much nicer it is to do this work in 70 degree weather than in 90 degree weather. Make hay while the sun shines and dig holes while it's cloudy I guess.

This is the Farm Store's last open weekend for the spring season!
This is the last weekend for the Farm Store. After Saturday, we’ll shut her down until dahlia season, so swing by to get one last fix before the doors close.
I’ll
be taking a break from newsletters for awhile too. Mandy and I have
been working 7 day weeks since September, so we need a little time to
re-find our center, re-connect with family and friends, take a trip or
two, and just breathe a bit. We’ll still be working, fixing, building,
planting, watering, admin-ing, etc…but hopefully within banker’s hours
instead of farmer's hours for awhile.

Our tunnels will be resting alongside us, planted in buckwheat overcrop to keep the weeds at bay & amend the soil!
We’re wishing you all a beautiful weekend and a lovely summer filled with incredibly ripe tomato slices, covered in pesto sauce, mozzarella, and balsamic vinegar, under an umbrella, poolside at a party with the best music and with your favorite friends and loved ones. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good though….sometimes an inflatable pool, a pb&j, and a cold can of beer is pretty great too.
Until next time!
