Happy Friday y’all!
The mornings have been beautiful out here. The snowball viburnums are bursting with crisp whiteness, the purple lunaria is springing forth from the undergrowth, daffodils are still popping, the first iris has sprung up, the witch hazel continues to be fragrant, the mulberry tree is full with green fruit, the pineapple pears are already thumb sized, and the world is bathed in pollen.

Butterfly Ranunculus sparkling and shimmering in the tunnels!
Our butterfly ranunculus
are having a moment in the tunnels right now, and I highly recommend
them if you’ve not had them in a vase before. A lesser known flowering
delight, whose super power is that it is covered in buds and every
single one of them will open up into a sparkly shimmering flower over a
very long period in a vase. When the first flowers get tired, they are
continually replaced by newer blooms.

When we started flower farming, we were surprised at the lack of general demand there was for Icelandic poppies and heirloom chrysanthemums. That has all changed over the years and demand is huge for both. We feel like butterfly ranunculus is in the same category of under appreciated beauties. It’s the platonic best friend in an 80’s movie. It just needs to take off its glasses and let down its hair and all of a sudden, you can’t believe you spent your whole life without it.

Naw harvesting butterfly ranunculus!
The Farm Store
is open and please do remember that the days we are open are Thursday
and Friday (10-5p) and Saturday (9a-3p). I hate to see folks drive long
distances to visit a closed store. The poppies are still still going
strong! Come and grab some at the Farm Store this weekend if you are in
the area.

So many colorful poppies, vases, and candles at the Farm Store!
The Spring Plant Sale starts ONLINE tomorrow (March 29th) at 8am. Please note that if you come to the farm store at that time, you will not find plants. All orders must be placed online and a pickup date/time scheduled. We
will spend the next week putting custom orders together, and your
plants will be waiting for you on your scheduled pick up day. This sale is for locals only. We will not ship plant orders.

The plants are ready to go to their new local homes!
Keeping it brief today as I’ve got a long to-do list and not enough daylight. Wishing you all a great weekend!
