Rooted Mum Sale Starts This Week! 8/22/05
Posted on
Cheers!
Happy Friday y’all! It’s a beautifully cool day here with the occasional light shower and a high of 80 degrees. Doesn’t get much nicer than that for a Georgia August day, so we’re drinking it in. Gonna have a low country boil tonight with Mandy’s fam, so we’re looking forward to the end of the day, but before we get too distracted with shrimp and melted butter, we’ve got a sale to launch!

Today
is the big day for those of you on the mum waitlist! Check your inbox
for an email from us with a special link to our heirloom mum cuttings
pre-sale. You’ve got 2 full days of priority shopping to get first
access to your varieties and preferred dates.
Additionally, we've updated our chrysanthemum catalog, increased the amount of info in descriptions, added informative photos, grouped products by bloom time, and beefed up our growing guide
to be as helpful as possible to all you newer growers. We’ve also
added volume discounts for all you larger growers and better access to
fantastic varieties that were barely available last season.

If you missed the opportunity to get on the mum waitlist, the sale will
go live to the general public this Sunday at 8am EST, and we’ll still
have a bunch of amazing plants available. It’s still worth signing up,
though, if you grow mums. Not only will you get priority access next
year, but our waitlist gets first notification on spur of the moment mum
sales that happen during spring too. We don’t want to flood everyone’s
inbox with sales not relevant to them, so folks on the mum, or dahlia, or hellebore waitlists, make it clear to us that they want to be informed about those items. Sign up for any and all if that’s you!

Dahlias freshly harvested this morning!
Our dahlias
are blooming more and more these days, so offerings are steadily
climbing. I think 20 orders went out yesterday, and the dahlia boxes
are big! They are actually 2 bundles each and fill significantly more
space than most other flower boxes, so they are pretty awesome if you’ve
got multiple vases and locations you wanna pretty up for a weekend.
Our FedEx driver was talking about getting a bigger truck for our coming
season.
We’ve also got dried lavender bundles
for you lavender lovers. Don’t forget that dried lavender is one of
the most enchanting natural incenses you could ever imagine. Just
heavenly.

Prepping all the baby plants for our fall plant sale!
And local gardeners, our online plant sale goes live Sept 6th, and pickups begin on the day the Farm Store opens, which is the following Thursday the 11th.

A tasty beer for a great cause!
For
our little item of note, some of you have met and been helped by our
wonderful coworker Karmen, and she has recently informed us of a
beautiful program that’s near and dear to her heart that I’d like to
share with you:
Ales for ALS: Raising a Pint for a Cure
Ales for ALS is
a national fundraising initiative that brings together craft breweries
to support research for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Since its
launch in 2013, participating breweries have brewed unique beers using a
complimentary blend of specialty hops provided by the program. In
return, they donate a portion of the proceeds to ALS research. For every
pint sold, $1 is donatedto help fight ALS. By simply enjoying one of these special brews, you become part of a nationwide effort to advance treatment and find a cure.
Get Involved
Enjoy beers from participating breweries, and support local businesses that are part of the Ales for ALS program. Find a participating brewery near you to support the cause!
Locals can find a Pale Ale called Counterpunch at Athentic Brewing in Athens.
Karmen says it's really good, and we intend to buy a few cases to have
around for crew brew afternoons on Fridays. The one to have when you’re
having more than one.
Have a great weekend y’all! If you do drink, drink responsibly. Better yet, drink compassionately.
