Fall Plant Sale Starts Tomorrow! 8/30/24
Posted on
Happy Friday y’all!
It’s been hot out there. Heat index in the hundreds yesterday. Everything is crispy and stressed. Really hoping for that potential rain forecasted for this evening. Everyone needs a drink. Myself included.
Local gardeners, the Fall Veggie Plant Sale starts tomorrow online! Get out your gloves and tools and get your garden beds ready for next seasons bounty and start planning what you want to grow.
Pickups begin on September 7th. Just to be clear….this is for locals only. We will not ship these plants. All plants must be pre-ordered online and we will get your collection ready for you to pick up on your selected pick up date. Don't forget to book your appointment to pick up your order.
Ordering begins online THIS Saturday, August 31th, but pickups don’t begin until September 7th, which is when our Farm Store officially opens for Fall. If you have any questions about this, please contact Rachel@3porchfarm.com.
Heirloom Chrysanthemum lovers who are on our waitlist, the time has come!!
You will get first dibs to a full week’s access of mum cuttings to be shipped for the coming Spring. That special access period begins on September 6th.
It’s not too late to join the list (click here to join!), but for those who don’t, you’ll be able to purchase them from our website starting on September 13th thru Winter.
We have beefed up our supply of the mum varieties that sold out quickly last year, so we hope to have enough to go around, but you farmers know that nationwide demand is high and resources are limited out there, so don’t wait too long if you’re looking for a late Fall flower harvest of beautiful heirloom blooms. Heirloom mums have been one of the hardest flowering plants to get your hands on for the last decade or so and we’re doing our best to relieve some of that pressure, but just wanted to give a head’s up to you newer flower farmers that it’s a tight market and pickings can be slim if you wait too long.
I’m devoid of time for spewing my rambling thoughts today. I gotta get to work on the roof of the shop before it gets too hot out there.
Here's this week's niblet of joy: Check out the song Dear Mexico by Twain. It's both playful and soothing and just makes me smile.
Be well and have a nice weekend.
Steve
