A Tired Friday 5/17/24

Happy Friday y’all,
My parents are in town for a visit and in a stroke of unfortunate timing, Mandy and I’ve been sick all week (long Spring finally caught up with us), so I’m not gonna write much today. Fortunately there’s not much to say that hasn’t been said. Our spring is officially over. We have no flowers in the tunnels or the fields. All has been picked clean.
The crew worked incredibly hard and efficiently in the cooler weather of this week to pull out tens of thousands of plants from the tunnels and make way for either cover crop or mum plantings.
Mum babies are still being sent out to all you growers and we’ve still got a few weeks more to go if you’d like to get some yourself. We just updated our inventory! You can find them here.
Mandy and I prepped the fields and made beds for a couple acres worth of dahlia plantings.
I’m tired. Mandy’s tired. The crew is tired. Most are taking a 4 day weekend. The store will still be open for you local shoppers. We’ll be closing it up for the summer and our last day will be June 1st.
If you are looking for flowers to ship, we won’t have flowers for sale until lavender comes in early June. After that will be dahlias in late August.
We’re already planting for Fall and that’s gonna keep us busy for awhile. That and the mum production.
