Instructions for Pick-Up

Your order will be located at 135 Francis Hill Rd. Comer, GA 30629 at the 3rd gate, in our Farm Store. There will be signs for directions. Pickups for CSA will be every week, Wednesday-Friday from 9am-6pm and Saturday from 8am-noon . We will contact you by email a few weeks before the CSA begins to schedule your pickup time. You can either choose the same pickup time each week or schedule your time at the beginning of each week. You will also be able to shop our weekly online store to add items to your order. Pickup times are scheduled in 20 minute blocks to allow one person in the store at a time.

Health and Safety

If there is someone occupying the store when you arrive, please wait in your vehicle until they leave before you enter the store. We ask that you wear a mask for your safety and others. The store's windows and doors will remain open to provide fresh air circulation and a healthy atmosphere. The whole point of this is to offer a safe place for at-risk people to shop local and we require that all guests act with significant consideration for others. If you feel this infringes upon your freedoms, please do not join our CSA. You have many other great options around the Athens area. We take this point very seriously. Please use the hand sanitizer provided. Please only touch things you are going to buy. **The Farm Store is the only portion of the farm open. Please do not enter the farm premises. If you have any issue with your order please call 706-352-1534 and we will safely provide you with assistance.** Thank you for your partnership in collective compassion for our whole community !

Scheduling

Once you have paid for your share, you have secured a spot in our 6-week dahlia CSA. We will contact you via email (3porchcsa@gmail.com) to get you set up on our pickup schedule. It will be your responsibility to schedule your own dates. We recommend scheduling for the same time each week, to help you remember your pickups.

Terms and Conditions

<6> In purchasing this CSA, you agree that you are responsible for your pickup times of your share. If you are not able to pick up your share, it is your responsibility to find someone that can pick it up for you. There are no refunds, either partial or full, for missed appointments and/or cancellations. We can try to help you reschedule during our regular hours, but if you are unable to make it, let us know and we will do our best to find a good home to donate the items to.

Flower Care

<6> In joining this CSA, you agree and understand that flowers are perishable items. Dahlias typically have a vase life of 2-5 days depending on variety, room temp, water quality, etc... We harvest in peak conditions so that you will enjoy the longest vase life possible out of your flowers. We will provide you with flower care instructions in each weekly email. We are not responsible for poor flower care once the flowers leave the farm. Key factors for long vase lives are making sure to get your flowers in water ASAP (Bring a jar of water with you!), clean vases, and providing fresh, clean water to your vases everyday or every other day to prevent them from drying out. Dahlias are heavy drinkers. Dahlias love flower food, so you will also be provided with a packet of food each week!

Communication

<6> Please be sure to add 3porchcsa@gmail.com to your email contacts to ensure that our messages don't go to your Spam folder. We will mostly contact you through email but please be sure to provide your phone number in case we need to get in touch with you the day of pickup.

<6>Thank you so much for supporting 3 Porch Farm!! We look forward to providing you with all the beauties this fall!!

Our Collaborator

The Comerian-“Started in 2012, we are a small-batch bakery based in Comer, Georgia. Everything is hand-made from scratch. Our breads are naturally leavened by sourdough cultures, hand-shaped and baked in our stone hearth oven. We only use organic flours and grains and never use corn syrup, preservatives, artificial colors or dyes. Our whole wheat is sourced from DaySpring Farms, right here in Madison County! All of our whole grains are freshly ground before use in our stone mill. We use only the best, local, and seasonally available produce in our pastries.” We are SO excited to team up with The Comerian and bring you fresh bread and pastries baked in downtown Comer!! Follow them on Instagram @thecomerianbakery to make your mouth water!

What To Do While You're in Comer

Neat Pieces Antiques- This is quite possibly our favorite place in the country. Most of our farm and house is outfitted with treasures from this magical, unique spot ! The bulidings are filled with some seriously good finds ! There is plenty of space around to keep safe distance from others. We do encourage you to wear your mask as a way to protect our best bud, Jimmy, if not for yourself...although he does not require it.

Watson Mill State Park-While picking up your order, we suggest making a trip of it (bring a picnic of course!). Watson Mill is located only a few miles from the farm and it is worth a visit! It is Georgia’s Longest covered bridge and has some great hiking trails and swimming too.
